Message of the day - June 28, 1998:

Hi everyone,

I am back, so here is some more Santa Fe from my Summer 1996 trip to California. Today I am posting an action shot of my own, which is pretty unusual for me - I am mainly a roster shooter. Roster shooting is much easier than action, plus scenery like this just does not exist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The shot of GP60M #143 at Tehachapi, CA is among my best action shots. Very nice location, with the S and a half (W?) curve. Oh, how I wish I had been shooting Kodachrome 25 back then. At least Ken Kessler managed to wise me up before BNSF equipment started to become commonplace. You would probably be able to read the numbers on the numberboards had this slide been Kodachrome 25 (or 64). Still a nice shot though. Another interesting shot is the lashup shot of an intermodal arriving in Belen, NM with B40-8W #564 on the point. I was amazed to see a solid set of EIGHT red and silver units on the lead of a train.

Enjoy!
