This is the man who has had more influence on me than any other
single person. Dad has been into trains, both real and model for
as long as I can remember, and then some. Currently dad devotes
most of his "hobby time" to running John's Hobby Shop, a
small business that I often help him with. We often set up at
Texas area train shows, but have ventured as far away as Milbank,
SD for a few shows. Dad's interests are mainly Milwaukee Road
and Great Northern, but he likes BN and just about any other
road that roams the rails for that matter. Like most railfans, dad saw trains day in and day out years ago, but never really got the bug to take pictures of them. Well, he doesn't have time to shoot much (and what he really wants shots of is gone now anyway), but he sure is supportive of my efforts, and often gets stuck driving while I shoot most of the pictures (in most cases, if I took a shot outside the Dallas/Fort Worth area, he was parked close by, waiting very patiently). Every once in a while he does break out the extra camera. |
