Message of the day - May 29, 2003:

Hi everyone,

Life is full of challenges, and posting today took a little more time than usual due to a bizarre photography mishap resulting in a violent fracture of my right ring finger. Extreme sports can be hard on photographers, too. See http://www.11000rpm.com/0524.html if you are interested in motocross photography or what might happen when a finger gets caught between a motorcycle doing 40+ mph and a 35mm camera.

Now for the things you are here for, the train photos. This batch from Jeremy Bubb has waited quite a while to get scanned and posted, and I have to say with a few years of age, many of these shots are that much more interesting. All five photos were taken in Beardstown, IL on August 28, 1997. Featured today are four lease units (EMD, LMX, and Oakway) and the first BN caboose I have posted in about 5 years!

Enjoy,
Charles
