Message of the day - April 13, 1998:

Hi everyone,

Well, today I am posting more new shots from contributor Chris Stewart. Four of today's five shots are C44-9W Pumpkins. I just have to say that I really love the shot of 1096. I had been nagging Chris for a while to try to shoot more when it was sunny. I was able to visit him in Quincy, IL during June of last year, and sure enough, it was cloudy. Not the case on January 13, 1998. The light and angle are about as good as it gets on this shot!

The fifth shot of the day, GP50 #3174, is also interesting - it is the first shot I have received of a BNSF renumbered blue and yellow unit, and I think it is the first blue and yellow unit (SF or BNSF) I have posted!

On another topic, I may finally start getting busy on the BNSF motive power INDEX pages soon. I just received Robert C. Del Grosso's 1997 BNSF Motive Power Review today, so that will make research much, much easier. Robert's books have been invaluable to me in the building of the BN Photo Archive roster pages, and this book is the first by Del Grosso that reflects the BNSF renumbering plan. I'm proud to say I have managed to help Robert a little with his book - three of my photos made it in there! I hope to be more help to him in the future.

Well, hope you like what you see so far. As always, I welcome your comments, criticism, and most of all, contributions! Feel free to e-mail me - cbiel@sbcglobal.net.

Enjoy!
