Hi everyone,
Today brings a slight change in subject. The photos are still C44-9W's roster shots, however five different Heritage II paint scheme variations are shown. Previously, I have pointed out differences in the paint and BNSF cigar band on the nose. Going by first unit built to last, C44-9W #4832 built in August 1988 wears the first common scheme with small BNSF lettering on the cigar band and green under the yellow stripes on the nose and minimal white reflectors on the dark green frame sill. C44-9W #4867 built in September 1998 features a later variation with large BNSF lettering on the cigar band and green under the yellow stripes on the nose and minimal white reflectors on the dark green frame sill. C44-9W #4917 built in October 1998 also wears the first common scheme with small BNSF lettering on the cigar band and green under the yellow stripes on the nose, but unlike 4832 features generous white reflectors on the dark green frame sill. C44-9W #4361 built in March 1999 features the later variation with large BNSF lettering on the cigar band and green under the yellow stripes on the nose and generous white reflectors on the dark green frame sill. C44-9W #4591 built in November 1999 shows the most recent variation, with large BNSF lettering on the cigar band, orange under the yellow stripes on the nose, and generous white reflectors on the dark green frame sill. Enjoy! |
