Message of the day - August 20, 2005:

Hi everyone,

I managed to get trackside today, and a busy day it was. While I never did catch an intermodal train, I did catch one that was about half intermodal, so that will have to do. The good news is I did manage to bag 15 decent roster shots. A few are redundant, but I think I still got at least 10 unique subjects. Four of them are featured today, as I figured since the BNSF was nice enough to run SD60M #9255 around the "Trinity Connection" wye, I managed to score photos of both sides of the unit with decent lighting.

One thing I should mention about the above unit and SD70MAC #9809 is that the reflective striping along the frame sill now includes some yellow. This is likely in response to a very new federal requirement, and as I heard it, I thought both white and yellow were acceptable, but perhaps only yellow will do. Locomotives such as C40-8W #853 with red reflectors will likely be seeing some new reflectors in either white or yellow in the not too distant future, and if the other two units are any indicator, my money is on yellow. Which would not look too bad on a Warbonnet, since there is a splash of yellow striping on there already.

Enjoy!
