Hi everyone,
Allow me to continue right on with my endorsement of the Ponderosa Ranch at Crawford Hill, Nebraska. Here are five more reasons to consider booking a night or two. As some of you may have been able to guess, in addition to the GE ES44AC, I also "made quota" on the EMD SD70ACE with five particularly nice roster shots of this locomotive model. In case you have not figured out that I'm primarily a roster shooter, well, that's my thing and as many as I have taken over the years, this shot of SD70ACE #9241 ranks right up there among the best I've ever managed to take. The trucks and fuel tank could be cleaner, but above the frame it looks great, and I managed to squeeze the feel of action into this roster shot. Yes, I did take some action shots, they will be saved for my April 12, 2011 party favors. Robert C. Del Grosso's new "BNSF Railway 2010 Locomotive Review" book came in handy again for the data on a couple of these units, and while I was at it, I updated the EMD SD70ACE roster page to match his total of 270 units. Last but not least, if you model BNSF in N scale and happen to own a recently released model of Kato's BNSF SD70ACE #9370, check it! Enjoy! |
