Hi everyone,
Today we have five EMD SD70MAC's sporting BNSF's new "Heritage II" paint scheme. Three are from new contributor Galen Coupe and two are my own. I'm not especially proud of my two shots, but they are the first two that I saw and photographed. If you regularly read the MOTD's, you may recall back in the spring how I was fussing about these units never being on the point, and how whoever puts together the lashups must be trying to hide them. I did finally manage to get some shots of one in the lead, and today, I got shots of a coal train where the first two were Heritage II Macs! I still think that these are not that popular with whoever puts together the lashups, but I think BNSF is buying too many of these, and it's making it harder for that someone to hide them. I read recently in misc.transport.rail.americas that a solid set of three was sighted in Wyoming. I'll bet that really irked the guy. Anyway, I'll have some better shots of these, similar in quality to the wonderful shots of 9839 by Moss Hulsey. I still get mail asking if he has any extras of those! Well, hope you like what you see so far. As always, I welcome your comments, criticism, and most of all, contributions! Feel free to e-mail me - cbiel@sbcglobal.net. Enjoy! |
