Sometimes taking the scenic route pays. On the way to Moss Hulsey's house on November 28th, I decided to take a little extra time to go via Venus, TX. I was rewarded with quite a find for a BN fan! There were three BNSF-ized BN green units on the scene, with GP39M #2894 and GP38-2 #2323 both front uncoupled and begging for roster shots. I was dissapointed to see the third unit coupled, but two out of three was not bad. So I haul out the camera, and as luck would have it, GP50 #3169 uncouples from GP39M #2765 and I get all three ex-BN units uncoupled! I thought to myself what are the odds that all three pairs of locomotives would have the ex-BN units facing the sun as I made quick work of shooting these on both the Kodak DCS 760 digital camera and the good old Minolta X370 loaded with Kodachrome 64. Which reminds me, I need to drop off that film for processing. Note that I did sneak in one more stack car photo, and yes, I do have five more photos of Maxi I #237785 coming soon.
