Message of the day - February 20, 2005:

Hi everyone,

I am moving right along with the BNSF All Purpose Maxi Stack articulated cars, and since these will all be four photo sets, that leaves me a fifth spot to have some fun with. I got quite a few new photos today, enough for an update I am sure but I got so many photos I still have not cataloged them all yet. That is a good problem to have. So digging through the old digital collection, I found an interesting GP38 to present. As you may expect, there is something peculiar about this unit. I have noticed that BNSF does not seem to be doing much repainting of older units lately, and I suppose that also goes for swapped out parts. While I frequently note C44-9W air conditioners getting swapped between Heritage I and II units and Warbonnets, I have not seen to many occasions where we have a truck swap where colors are off. It is even more odd when it is just one truck that is different, as is the case with GP38 #2206. I expect the reason BNSF did not paint the truck is that business is up and they need as many locomotives in service as possible. Also a good problem to have.

Enjoy!
