Years ago, I had a tendency to use November and February to change things up a little. Usually that meant freight car photos instead of the usual locomotive photos. This year, it's finally time to create a section for business cars like I have for the Burlington Northern. I think I caught BNSF passenger specials on two occasions in 2009, and I'll have to admit that the 2009 photos of digital origin look a bit better than this set from 2001 of film origin. I think these were even shot on the legendary Kodachrome 25, but probably at 1/250 which doesn't quite cut it for fast passenger trains. When I was posting at 798x532 it was a little less of a flaw than 1920x1080. But hey, at least these 2001 photos are from before the new BNSF "Wedge" Logo era. It sure is handy to have Del Grosso's BNSF 2000-2001 Review book which happens to document the BNSF Business Car fleet at the time quite thoroughly. It is even more handy that I took these photos back in 2001 as well. I did get a few photos of SLSF 1522 pulling these cars, but I'm just not sure how to fit that in here. I probably should have slipped those in back when I did the 2002 Party Favors page. Enjoy! |
