Message of the day - February 28, 2015:

Hi everyone,

I only managed to get trackside once during February, and while I did not make quota, I did score a couple particularly nice pix.

The first pic of the day, SD70MAC #9839 pretty much made my day since I particularly enjoy catching repaints featuring modern paint schemes on earlier units. Plus, it just so happens that Kato has made a model of this unit in this paint in both N and HO!

Then as if that wasn't enough, I scored a good old Warbonnet! Judging by the cap on the exhaust stack, C44-9W #608 is probably on it's way back into storage so I feel fortunate to catch it not stashed deep in a yard somewhere.

So with Warbonnets on my mind, I figured it was time to reach back and pick out a few more. Which was time well spent, since now I finally have a photo of a C41-8W to feature.

Last but not least, finding the pic of Warbonnet C44-9W #636 on Crawford Hill sure brings back fond memories of that location. It has been almost 5 years now so perhaps it's time to plan another trip there. My first stay at the Ponderosa Ranch was well worth it!

Enjoy!
