Hi everyone,
Here are five Heritage II C44-9W's from new contributor Wes Carr. While Wes' shot of C44-9W #4921 is not from the type of angle I'm used to (more of an action type shot anyway) it's kind of a neat shot. While I have noticed this before, this shot really brought to my attention the change in the BNSF lettering from smaller to larger. There are samples of each in today's five photos, and I am not sure at what point the size of the lettering changed, but based on photos I have there is not a simple spot in the roster where one style stops and the other style starts. See #4917 (old), #4919 (new), #4921 (old), and #4926 (new) for an idea of the difference. I guess the transition is varying units between 4717 and 4926, though as I get more photos, I may discover the interval is larger. Enjoy! |
