Hi everyone,
This is my first full "day off" since January 2, and it happened to be sunny so I got trackside. I suppose I did kind of get some railfanning in earlier this month in if San Francisco trolleys count. Anyway, today I was fortunate enough to snag several photos with the Kodak DCS 760 digital and even finished a roll of Kodachrome 64 on a few of the subjects that were standing still. I may not have spent the Kodachrome on GP38 #2242 if I had noticed the pole shadow on the nose, I must be getting a little out of practice. I always like to point out good before and after photos when opportunities present themselves, and today I noted that B40-8W #529 must be among the very few BNSF locomotives that has worn more than one BNSF paint scheme, as it was previously red and silver with large BNSF lettering. Big oddity of the day is C40-8W #819. It is not often I shoot a wide cab unit with the front door wide open AND to make matters worse a pole shadow on it, but I could not help myself when I noticed something just above the front coupler. It looks like a brakewheel, but I am pretty sure it is a wheel cover (aka hubcap) from an automobile. I wonder how that got there. I can tell you now I did not put it there. In case you might be thinking I did it, if I were to get that close, I'd have closed that damn door. Enjoy! |
