Last month's success of catching SD75I #296 has got me a little more excited about trying to get out on days with potential. Despite getting out of the office a bit late, I tried my luck on July 8 and 10 and did get a little something to show for it. Between those efforts and having a bit more time on July 13, I've got a nice little batch to start things off this month. The first photo is what really does it for me. It's hard to beat a fresh and new unit like SD70ACE #8586. The only trouble with something so new, is finding builder data, especially the date built poses a challenge. So I had a good plan in place to snag a builder plate pic after the roster shot, but I failed to execute the plan adequately, so had to do a bit of chasing to get another chance and made good on that one. I also enjoy seeing old friends, so of course SD75I #284 was a welcome treat, and as if that ATSF red and silver wasn't enough, I even got my BN green whiteface fix with GP40M #3011! Life is good, and the month isn't even half over yet! Enjoy! |
