Hi everyone,
Now comes the stuff you have been so patiently waiting for. Oddball pumpkins and new SD70MAC pumpkins. Of course, the one I was most excited to see was SD40-2 #6915 - the first pumkin SD40-2 I have seen, so fittingly the first one I have posted. I have only seen three more, and do have shots of all three that should be on CD sometime in August, and posted in September. If you have followed my BN site, you know how I like to go off on SD40-2's. Oh how I wish someone (Kato) would make a nice SD40-2 model in N-Scale. For the sake of these websites, maybe that would not be good. I would have to get into serious modelling again. The SD70MAC looks to be becoming the next "SD40-2" for BN/BNSF, as they will soon have over 500 once orders recently placed are filled. The latest orders by BNSF are being delivered in the same "Heritage II" scheme as shown on SD70MAC #9844. This scheme finally seems to be gaining acceptance with whoever it is that puts together the coal train lashups. It took seven months, but over the past couple weeks, I finally caught not one, but two trains with a Heritage II pumpkin on the lead (one being Mexican-built 9875). Those shots will be posted about the same time as the SD40-2's I mentioned above. Well, hope you like what you see so far. As always, I welcome your comments, criticism, and most of all, contributions! Feel free to e-mail me - cbiel@sbcglobal.net. Enjoy! |
