Message of the day - June 11, 2003:

Hi everyone,

We are halfway there, 50 down, 50 to go to reach my goal of posting 100 SD70MAC photos this month, despite having only the use of my left hand. If you recall yesterday's late afternoon photo from Wyoming, here is one from that morning. I spent a long time watching UP train after UP train before I finally bagged SD70MAC #8887 a few hundred miles south near Douglas well before the clouds and storms that spoiled Gillette. Speaking of storms, power recently went out during gusty winds, and I am typing this in darkness. I may have to shut down the server since it won't last long on UPS power. Power outages are seldom pleasant. What is pleasant is clean, new locomotives. Seldom have I photographed a unit as clean as SD70MAC #8861 in Ft. Worth. That shot definitely made my day. Or maybe it was the overhead. In any case, it was pretty enough to chase.

Enjoy!
