Message of the day - June 16, 2003:

Hi everyone,

I had to take a little break for Father's Day weekend. What does dad want to do? Take pictures of trains, preferably some nice action shots with good light and scenery. The weather suggested we try Sweetwater, TX and from there we followed the BNSF (ex-Santa Fe) up to Lubbock and Amarillo. It was a fun trip, and since action shooting generally involves telephotos, tripods, and a little advance time to set up, I was able to do OK despite having to set up with my left hand, and operate the shutter left handed. Only one shot got clouded out, coincidentally, a SD70MAC. Not BNSF, BN. And not pulling coal, but pulling what appeared to be a grain empty. Either it was empty, or a SD70MAC and SD40-2 are a lot more power than I think.

Today I'm back with five more SD70MAC's, and I'd better not get too far from home for the rest of the month, as I can only afford to miss four more days this month to meet my posting goals.

Enjoy!
