Message of the day - June 23, 2008:Hi everyone,This set is for Skip and Steve, with special thanks to Richard Whitenight for his detailed notes on the passenger car numbers. The only other times I've posted this many photos is on my birthday when for the past few years I have featured my best efforts on action photography. Well, on June 21 the NRHS ran a special train called the Quanah Zephry with significant help from the BNSF, so I felt it appropriate to feature this event as part of this site even though only the lead locomotive and one car are BNSF equipment. Early reports claim about 500 passengers rode this special train, yet only 25 or so photographers were chasing it. Maybe I didn't count since I only chased to three locations, but I definitely got dibs on the first overpass photos of the occasion. In an effort to make these photos available, I think I finally thought up a good way to feature similar events in the future, so expect that "Action and Scenic Photos" section that's been in the back of my mind for 10 years or so to finally get some attention.
