Message of the day - June 19, 2010:

Hi everyone,

Today I finally made quota! It's been a while, but once the summer heat hits Texas there are bound to be coal trains. I only caught two, but when the DPU is facing the right way, and you know how to make good use of curves in the tracks, it only takes two to get four decent roster shots. Tack on a fifth of a good old SD40-2, and that's quota. I got a sixth of a 3GS21B for insurance but it was a number I already had from the same side and angle.

I did sit down and prepare another set of BNSF passenger cars while waiting on a flat tire to be replaced, just in case I wasn't so lucky. I even started a little early in the afternoon with an overhead roster, but did a better job on the ground level version of ES44AC #5756 so that's the one I used. I'm glad to finally have one of the earlier ones, and for that matter I should probably review my ES44AC collection.

I had my work cut out for me to score this photo of SD70MAC #9639 still in BN paint with a new BNSF wedge logo on the cab actually in the lead! Second unit was a BNSF unit also in BN paint, but I blew off the action shot to get what I thought would be a better roster angle. No regrets, I got what I wanted! If the BNSF were to start running matched sets of these, I'd be just fine with that.

Enjoy!
