Hi everyone,
This month was a challenge. I only got trackside twice, and even between those two days, I didn't make quota. Even though I got out of work a bit late, I did note the lack of clouds and gave it a try with hopes of making quota between June 23 and today. If you count rear uncoupled shots, I suppose I did make quota, but I hope to do better than that. While I did not make quota, the effort was still worthwhile. What I did get today was an exceptionally rare treat! With new locomotive deliveries being assigned the 8200's, the SD75M's and SD75I's that remain on the roster needed to be renumbered, and the 200 series was selected. As if catching SD75I #296 was not enough of a treat the last time I took and posted a photo of a SD75I was over 10 years ago! For all 43 or so of you WGRF types out there, when I first spotted this unit, the nose door was open, but I shot it anyway. Moments later, I chased down the train with ES44C4 #6585 leading, and came back 12 minutes later to find the nose door closed! I am now completely out of slide film! Time to order some more Provia 100F, since I doubt I'll find any more E100VS. Technically I'm not totally out, but I'll hold on to my last 4 rolls of unexposed Kodachrome that I set aside for my personal museum collection. Enjoy! |
