Hi everyone,
Today I am posting more of the same (nice C44-9W "Pumpkin" slides) from contributor John T. Kennedy. I went on my second day railfanning since I have been back today, and had very good luck for a change. After 6 months of waiting, I finally caught a "Heritage II" SD70MAC on the lead of a coal train, and heading into the sun during the late afternoon. Ahhh... The engineer put on a good show, too. Maybe he was just going slow until the train cleared the turnout, but at the time, he sure seemed to be going at a leisurely pace, allowing me to shoot a few extras (that will probably go to Moss, Chris, and a couple other lucky contributors). Even better, I saw and photographed my first set of BNSF DOUBLE STACK CARS!!! Yippie! I heard the decals are already out (if so, they ought to be easy to find, as there isn't much on the market to put them on), so now I can spend 80+ hours building up my fourth and last N Scale of Nevada Maxi III kit (I am pretty confident that that is what I saw)! For those of you patiently waiting for me to develop a nice BNSF freight car section, that was the spark I needed. Time to scan about 120 BNSF freight car slides. Well, hope you like what you see so far. As always, I welcome your comments, criticism, and most of all, contributions! Feel free to e-mail me - cbiel@sbcglobal.net. Enjoy! |
