Message of the day - June 30, 1998:

Hi everyone,

Today I am posting more slides from contributor John T. Kennedy. BNSF red and silver has returned, there is an old style BNSF lettered SD75M, and a new style C44-9W. There is alsom more of the less common orange and green. GP38-2 #2099 is probably the most well known "oddball." (The Athearn HO Scale GP38-2 is available as BNSF 2099 in factory paint!) The silver trucks on this unit are typical of new high horsepower units, but the standard scheme calls for green trucks and fuel tank for units of 3000 horsepower and lower. Note that the other two GP38-2's have green trucks and fuel tanks. I'm sure there is a gray area for things like C33-7's and SD40-2's redesignated to reflect horsepower boosts. Time will tell where the line really gets drawn.

Well, hope you like what you see so far. As always, I welcome your comments, criticism, and most of all, contributions! Feel free to e-mail me - cbiel@sbcglobal.net.

Enjoy!
