Message of the day - June 18, 1999:

Hi everyone,

Today I am posting five more Grinstein green Macs, all five shots taken by me. Interestingly, I caught the same unit (BNSF 9792) on the same weekend of the year while at an annual train show in Temple, TX for two consecutive years. The 1997 shots are a little better on detail and lighting, but at least it was in the lead in 1998.

Tomorrow comes the last three Grinstein Macs, and two more subjects from the next CD. I think I'll make it more Macs, back to Heritage II paint again. I won't be able to make it to 100 Macs in the month, as I'll run out when I hit 99. Oh well. I may find one more to slip in to make it 100. While I'm on the topic of Macs again, since these are all pretty new, I could use help with builder info once again. Here are the numbers coming up this time: 8802, 8803, 8811, 9865, 9883, 9884, 9885, 9900, 9905, 9906, 9912, 9913, 9923, 9931, 9935, 9944, 9955, 9956, 9965, 9960, 9972, 9982, and wouldn't you know it, 9999!

I can wait until Tuesday to see if I get new info. If I get it sooner, I'll post sooner, if not I'll just have to extrapolate from what Craig and Kent sent me last time. I can guess all the builder numbers, but builder dates will be harder to guess at. I guess I don't need info for 8802 and 8803, since I got the number and date of 8808 myself in Houston, and 8803 was coupled to it, looking very new and shiny at the time.

Enjoy!
