Message of the day - June 23, 1999:

Hi everyone,

Once again, here are five more Heritage II macs, one from Moss E. Hulsey and the rest are my own. Shot of the day has to be SD70MAC #8811. I can't say I've seen a much more modern train overall. Not a piece can be over a year old, as it was three brand new 8800's and a train of solid Trinity built BNSF grain hoppers. I don't know what I was doing out taking pictures on a cloudy day like that, and it was really too early to be out shooting too. Considering the time of day (2:30-3:00pm) I guess it was just as well it was cloudy. I was pushing the limits of Kodachrome 25 to get this shot. I think I took it at 1/125 f3.5. The shot of the lead unit came out too blurry to post. I think this is an empty, and going downhill with three brand-new 8800 class macs, it was making very good time.

I tied my record for number of images posted for the month now, and am in good shape to post more, but unfortunately, I scanned three of Moss's slides twice, so I am three images short of being able to post 100 BNSF Macs this month. Unless someone has three PhotoCD files of BNSF Macs they can e-mail or send me in the next seven days, I'll have to settle for 95. Still not a bad month, but it sure would be great to hit the century mark.

Enjoy!
