Hi everyone,
Well, interesting news of the day isn't really trains, as a tornado blew by about a mile south of the house here in Arlington, TX at about 7:00pm this evening. No damage done here, in fact I was pleasantly surprised that my UPS (APC BackUPS Pro 650) kept my Sun, Ascend Pipeline, and ethernet hub going for the 2 1/2 hours that power was out. Wouldn't normally expect it to last that long, but I guess it pays to keep the monitor turned off and just have the box running. Perhaps more interesting news is that I plan to get myself 416k dedicated SDSL for my birthday this year to replace the 128k dedicated ISDN I got myself last year. I'm not sure if I will have it up by April 12 (my birthday) but sure hope it will. It may require a little downtime as I'll surely have to disconnect equipment. I'll be sticking with the same service provider, so hopefully I will not have to change my static IP addresses, which could lead to more than a few minutes of down time. In any case, I plan to be up (as usual) on April 12, and having my second little online party. The first party went over quite well, doing a good job of flooding my 128k line for pretty much the entire day. I never did take the page down from last year - it is still up as the main index page for archive.trainpix.com. If you have never seen that page, you will probably like the pictures. Expect some more, mostly action shots, coming up on April 12, 2000. Moving on to today's images, here are five more SD70MAC's from Mark R. Lynn, all taken around the Kansas City area in Spring 1999. These are all in the upper 9800's and I believe were among the first SD70MAC's built in Mexico for the BNSF. Enjoy! |
