Hi everyone,
I just barely made quota today so here's another fresh batch of five pix. Please excuse the pic of SD40-2 #1800 with the nasty pole shadow, I thought I may as well consider that flaw acceptable today so I could move along to the real catch of the day. So ... SD40-2 #1576 is listed in my BNSF Railway Company 2011 Locomotive Review by Robert C. Del Grosso as former SD40-2 #7859. Most of my roster data relies heavily on the many excellent books by Del Grosso over the years. This is the first time I can claim that there is a likely error to address. It is rather obvious to me that 1576 is a SD45-2 rebuild of ATSF origin, not the former 7859 of BN origin. Give me a few days and perhaps I'll get to the bottom of the history of these two units and correct my SD40-2 roster. Enjoy! |
