Hi everyone,
Even though I got out of the office a little after 6pm, I decided to try my luck trackside since it was such a nice day. With less than 2 hours of sun to work with, getting my "quota" of five decent BNSF rosters was going to be pushing it. But luck was on my side, and I even met an old acquaintance. Back in 1997, I managed to score what may be the only photo of an ATSF SD45-2B I took myself. ATSF SD45-2B #5512 was a rare catch, one of eight at the time. Now that 10 years have passed, there are only four left on the BNSF, and as luck would have it, BNSF SD45-2B #6522 was out and about. Normally I do not count a coupled unit like this as a "decent" roster, but for cabless units that rarely lead, I'll make an exception. Just as I did back in 1997. While A+B+A isn't really a common term for modern locomotives, it was nice to see the modern equivalent. The paint schemes for all three units were different, at least the locomotive cabs were both facing opposite this "B" for an aesthetically pleasing photo that I'll likely feature on April 12, 2009. Enjoy! |
