Hi everyone,
Hot on the heels of yesterday's batch of EMD GP's from 2004 and 2005, are a few more such units. I did pretty well to post most of what I took back then, but these are some that I suspect are from some of those days where I didn't make quota. In the case of GP38 #2217, maybe I was thinking I didn't need six or seven pix of that unit, but that was then and this is now. Most of the four axle power I see now is the NRE 3GS21B gensets, which is fine. They are quite rare outside of Texas and California, and are all in new paint and relatively clean. But hey, some old ex-BN and ex-ATSF is nice every once in a while. Which just so happens to be what I have! In a couple cases the units are still in patched predecessor paint, which was much easier to come by 8 or 9 years ago than now. While there are five photos, there are only three units featured today. I especially like it when I can get properly lit rosters of both sides of a unit on the same day, though in this case the photos are more like within 30 days. My apologies for the weeds obstructing the trucks on 2217. Back then, that may have been an unacceptable flaw, but now I see that compared to the earlier views, this one clearly shows a relocation of the horn. Details, details! Not only that, but I do find it particularly interesting that it appears to be the same old orange painted horn, now in a position where it would normally be painted green. While I'm at it, also note that the air conditioner on the cab roof that once was green is now yellow. Sure wish I had some elevated pix of it now! Dang! Enjoy! |
