Hi everyone,
Here is more from the 12th Annual "24 Hours @ Saginaw" event by the NRHS North Texas Chapter. I am still on May 26, 2017, the first 5 hours of the event, and I'm up to 10 decent pix already! Woo hoo! While I never did get the lighting "perfect" on any of these, when it came to being good enough, I was batting 1000 at this event. My best effort of the evening was BNSF 8571 with fairly even lighting front to rear and my light modifier limiting foreground lighting was at least somewhat apparent and properly aligned. While I seldom do this, the nice thing about such a night photography flash setup is having control of the lights, so they are right for both the lead unit and the trailing DPU on trains that have one. Mother Nature challenges that control in various ways. Two years ago, it was with wind and rain. Last year, Mother Nature took a break, and so did the BNSF by not running much for trains. This year, BNSF is back to business, and I was up to Mother Nature's wind challenge as I was in 2015 with tent stakes and BNSF inspired bright orange (for safety) paracord to steady the light stands. Enjoy! |
