Hi everyone,
Here is a variety of high horsepower units from contributor Wes Carr, including one more GP40X, three GP50's and a C44-9W. It is always interesting to see photos someone else takes in the same area you do, as others will find subjects and scenes that you don't find yourself. Wes and I do tend to get a lot of the same subjects in the area, but Wes tends to find them in some interesting locations that I have yet to shoot. One example is this scene in Saginaw, Texas where GP50 #3170 is putting together a roadrailer train. While I caught the same unit myself a few months earlier a few miles south in Ft. Worth, the Saginaw scene is much more interesting than my vantage point at Tower 55 where my shot of GP50 #3170 was taken. Who'd have thought Saginaw could be better than Tower 55? The tower certainly has received plenty of fanfare over the years. Then again roster vs. action isn't a very fair comparison. Enjoy! |
