I spent last weekend in New Mexico providing an opportunity to get trackside on the BNSF between Belen and Mountainair. The power was all GE, including some nice, new ET44C4's. I see that roster page is a bit behind recent production. I favored elevated locations which allow for a view of rooftop details. The original ET44C4 design featured a squared off box around the exhaust like featured on ET44C4 #3994. I heard that this carbody feature was changed, likely to accomodate clearance requirements. ET44C4 #3786 is an example of a revised angled box around the exaust. Enjoy! |
