Hi everyone,
Here are four more ballast hoppers. These hoppers are obviously ex-BN or ex-ATSF, since they are only partially repainted. These are also maintenance of way equipment, so I was surprised to see them relettered BNSF so soon. Then again, they didn't receive a complete paint job. Most other BNSF cars I have seen have been completely repainted, so it is hard to tell if they are freshly built or predecessor cars that needed enough work to warrant new paint. While many of the cars I have been posting look new, I assume several are just repainted. Tracing their origins is something I'm not going to attempt to undertake, though. With the exception of intermodal, I don't really care to know that much. If the information were easy to find, I would pass it on, but I don't care to dig it up myself. Enjoy! |
