Message of the day - November 11, 1999:

Hi everyone,

Well, thanks to more problems with my PhotoCD service, I'll be posting double stack cars instead of some more interesting subjects by fellow north Texan Wes Carr. Seems they want more than a short, to the point signed letter. This may take a while to straighten out. Hope I don't have the same problem with the latest batches from Chris Stewart, John Jacobs, and Mark Lynn. We'll see.

I don't really intend to have November and February be freight car month every year, but it's kind of funny how these things work out. There is one last C44-9W today, which will make 201 C44-9W's I have shots of (not including ATSF 600's). It's amazing how many that is and yet it seems I have so few C44-9W's...at least few of them in Heritage II. Fortunately Mark Lynn sent a bunch more, many fresh out of MAC, so if you are easily bored, C44-9W's might start looking as common as SD40-2's. That day will come, but it's not here quite yet. The novelty hasn't worn off, at least not for me. Then again, I'm just as happy to see a BN SD40-2 on the point as I am to see a Heritage II C44-9W.

Shucks, I even get excited when I see new BNSF double stack cars. I've actually chased some to get better shots! I think I'll lay off on the ones in less than optimal light though, such as today's 240615 shot.

Enjoy!
