Hi everyone,
I'm done posting photos from Mark R. Lynn for the moment, but still have a last word to get in regarding those last two photos. Many of you are probably well aware of how rare SD45-2 #6481 is (one of two in Heritage I paint), but I for one did not know that B23-7 #4275 was destroyed in a wreck on the GWWR a few months ago and will almost certainly be retired rather than repaired, making this a rare photo as well. Now that I take a second look at this unit, something must have happened to the nose once before, as the headlight in the nose mounted differently from all other ATSF/BNSF B23-7's I have seen. Today I guess I could say the photos are nothing new, as I already had photos of both, and four photos feature one unit, C44-9W #961. This is one of the very first Heritage I painted units that featured red walkways, and while a bit darkened by weathering they do still appear to be red in this overhead photo. Enjoy! |
