Hi everyone,
In the past, I have made a habit of posting "pumpkins" or BNSF Heritage I painted locomotives for the month of October, with November and February being freight car months, but I may as well finish what I started last month with Maxi I #237087, and four other Maxi I five unit photos. Over the next few days I intend to get out the individual unit photos. I must say that I find the Maxi I to be one of the more interesting double stack cars. While not as distinctive as the bulkhead equipped Twin Stack, they are basically the same car without the bulkheads. BNSF happens to have several hundred of these in a variety of paint schemes. Since most overseas containers are still 40' and that will remain the standard for the forseeable future, these cars are particularly efficient in their ability to carry these containers. They allow for shorter overall train length, something desirable on both real and model railroads. Enjoy! |
