Message of the day - October 31, 1997:

Hi everyone,

I planned on posting BN today, since I am way behind on posting BN, but it's October 31st. Halloween. What do you see all over the place on Haloween? Pumpkins! (Unless you went railfanning today, and are a firm believer in Murphy's law. OK, I did see one...but it wasn't lead...713 was.)

Well, today being Haloween, I felt obligated to post all pumpkins today, so here's some of the fruits of my Summer 1997 trip from Texas to Minnesota. The shot of 1103 was probably the neatest roster shot I have seen through the veiwfinder. It's a nice slide, but the scan just doesn't do that one justice. The sun poked out from the ominous clouds that had just perfomed a nice cloudburst as I was shooting this and other units with my overcast backup film. I nearly got drenched (I ought to post the shot my sister took of me running back to the car in the rain...that would be something for that page about myself I keep putting off), but when the sun poked out, I was one happy camper. One of those shots you just can't wait to get back from the lab.

Well, hope you like what you see so far. As always, I welcome your comments, criticism, and most of all, contributions! Feel free to e-mail me - cbiel@sbcglobal.net.

Enjoy!
