Message of the day - September 11, 2003:

Hi everyone,

Today I wrap up the Heritage II C44-9W's numbered up to 4999. I still have a bit of roster information to fill in regarding the 5000 to 5499 units. All pictures today feature 4900 class units sporting either the narrow or wide BNSF lettering on the nose. Continuing yesterday's theme of how not to take rosters, C44-9W #4916 is another shot that does not follow the roster formula. I have the angle right, and that is about it. The overcast lighting is bad, and the open nose door is bad. If you look closely, I knew it was a poor roster, so I did get a little but artsy in a feeble attempt to make up for the flaws. Note the blur of the passing train, achieved by shooting at a low shutter speed from a tripod.

Enjoy!
