Message of the day - September 30, 2015:

Hi everyone,

Late in August, I started on a trip to visit friends in California. Of course I took my time and followed BNSF tracks all the way there and back. I got lots of good pix, and am still sorting them all out. Here's a handful to get started from the first day I made quota of 5 rosters, which was the 2nd day of the trip.

The first shot of the day of GP38-3R #2390 wound up being the most notable. I was not even aware that there was a small series of 3 GP38-3R rebuilds until I realized that 2390 was not in my roster. So this is quite the rare unit!

Also worthy of discussion is SD40-2 #1853. It has been a while, but I recall some BNSF modelers discussing walkway colors for Heritage I repainted units. I believe the original standard was orange, but it eventually changed to green. I have heard claims that some units also had yellow walkways, and this appears to be one of those units.
