Hi everyone, Happy Thanksgiving! I still have not repaired or replaced that monitor that is the main cause of recent inactivity, but I could not stand to put off the BN site any longer, so I got out the backup CD, and got busy. Here are ten more photos from the collection of Al Seever. Once again, plenty of interesting early BN most from 1970 when BN was still running passenger trains. Today I am posting my first shot of a genuine BN passenger car - not a business car like BNA 4. The history of both cars is a little sketchy. In the 1970's BNA 4 was ex-GN, and now BNA 4 is ex-NP. Also, while a renumbering plan was developed for BN passenger equipment, what appears to be BN 555 is actually NP 555, and would have been BN 4622 if not for Amtrak. Another item of interest to early BN and GN fans is my first true GN photo, GN E7A #512. I have plenty of renumbered units still in GN paint, but this shot is of a unit still wearing it's GN number after the March 1970 merger. Enjoy, Charles |
