Message of the day - June 7, 1999:

Hi everyone,

Thanks to Craig Douglas (BNSF Editor, CTC Board Magazine) and Kent Charles, I now have most of the builder info I need. There are a few discrepancies between their two lists. One reports the build date of 9886 to be 7/98, the other 8/98; 9978 to be 8/98 or 9/98; and 9987 to be 11/98 or 12/98. I am posting 9886 today with a questionable date (7/98). Also, I second guessed the build date Craig sent for 9935. He reported it to be 8/98, but judging by the extreme cleanliness of 9935 in Moss' photos dated 1/99, I am making the assumption it was built in 12/98 (or perhaps 11/98). If anyone is certain of build dates on these units, I'd appreciate knowing which are correct.

Today I'm, posting five more Heritage II Mac shots. This time none were taken by me, rather they were taken by the two people I most frequently railfan with: My father, John Biel, and that SP nut from Cleburne, Moss Hulsey. I don't use many of Dad's photos since we tend to be at the same place at the same time, and have the similar photos of the same subjects. I'm not sure where I was on October 4, 1998 - but it was not trackside. Dad had fun rubbing in how he got two Heritage II Macs on the point on one day. That didn't happen often in 1998.

Enjoy!
