Message of the day - March 28, 2001:

Hi everyone,

On this date a year ago, I was looking forward to doing more with the site by taking advantage of the increased bandwidth of my current DSL line. It turned out to be a disappointment overall, and looking back at the old news in the what's new section is a clear guage that the last year has been slower than expected in more ways than one.

Due to reliability problems I had with DSL, I planned to switch back to good old ISDN. I started the ball rolling on that, and then through a rather strange turn of events, I got an offer that sounded too good to pass up on a T1 line, so guess what I will be celebrating on April 12 this year! If you are new to the site, just check the above page, and you will be pleasantly surprised. With any luck, I will have the T1 up on April 12 just in time for the extra traffic associated with what I will call Party 3.0.

Getting this T1 line is going to be a big financial committment that I was not exactly planning for but at slightly over two times the price of 128k ISDN, I could not say no to 1.54M. This line should be just as solid as ISDN was, and I definitely plan to get my money's worth. That means a little more than the five or ten images per month I have been posting for the past year.

As for today's pictures, more of the same - five more Heritate II C44-9W photos, all by me. 11 months ago today (April 28, 2000) I had a little case of deja vu when I shot C44-9W #4631 in Haslet crossing Blue Mound Road, and then just a few minutes later C44-9W #4621 at the exact same location, with what sure seemed like the exact same road number at the time. I suppose I should have rotated one of the shots to make it that much harder to tell the two apart. I do remember being quite happy on the way home that day after bagging two of the then elusive 4600's built after December 31, 1999.

Enjoy!
