Message of the day - March 7, 1998:

Hi everyone,

Well, today I am posting shots of two different trains. One is a lead unit and lashup shot of a typical BNSF coal train, the other has a little more story to it.

Those of you that have known about this site for a while may recall that back on Halloween of last year, I posted all pumpkins. Before I got that idea, I was out chasing trains, since it happened to be a sunny afternoon. I was hoping to get a shot of a "pumpkin" on Halloween. Seemed like the thing to do at the time. Well, the sun was getting awful low, and I had yet to see a pumpkin. I was just about ready to throw in the towel and go home to at least post some pumpkins, when a train with a red and silver warbonnet on the lead approached. It wasn't quite what I wanted, but as it got closer, there behind it was the elusive "Halloween pumpkin" (C44-9W #1083) I was after. Sure wish it was lead unit (here we go again) but at least I did get one. I was content, and proceeded home to post those pumpkins!

Well, hope you like what you see so far. As always, I welcome your comments, criticism, and most of all, contributions! Feel free to e-mail me - cbiel@sbcglobal.net.

Enjoy!
