Message of the day - October 1, 2009:

Hi everyone,

Can you believe it? Here is another five more photos from contributor Dan Grobe!

If I had grand plans of featuring nothing but Heritage I "pumpkins" this month, I already blew it with one of the five being GP30 #2464 still wearing ex-Santa Fe blue and yellow. I could try and argue that the air conditioner is orange, but that's a bit of a stretch. Oh well, I really only need to get it right on the 31st. Or maybe I'll take the day off and hand out candy. Maybe the weather will be nice and BNSF will be running some candy! Time will tell.

Some may ask why I would take the time to put out three more photos of GP38-2 #2285. Well, for one thing Dan did a fine job on these. Also, if you are a modeler into things like operating ditch lights, you can have a field day with this unit. It has them on both ends, and mounted below the walkways! Yes! This is a bit unusual for any EMD, and a treat for anyone trying to put a bulb in the pilot rather than figure out a way to fit it on top of the walkway.

Enjoy!
