Hi everyone,
This month has not offered many good days to get trackside. Today I did, but came up short. Maybe I'll do better tomorrow, but why wait until the end of the month? This batch has actually taken me a long time to prepare. The images required very little work, but my EMD SD9 page was very out of date. Fortunately, I have the latest book from Del Grosso to answer most questions. It is nice to get all four corners of a unit, and contributor Dan Grobe did a fine job covering three of the four on GP28M #1535. This is not an easy locomotive to model, but should you attempt such an endeavor, at least you know you won't have to go to the trouble of rear ditch lights on this one. Which may be the least of your concerns. I am particularly happy to have the two relatively recent EMD SD9 photos, as I had none since they have been renumbered into the 1700's to free up the 6100's for GE ES44AC's. Dan even oudid himself and got two different paint schemes! SD9 #1722 is in Heritage 1 with a noticable patch where the number 6135 used to be. SD9 #1727 is an even more rare stencil job versus the more common patch job. Enjoy! |
