It's April 12th again, and that means Party Favors!

Once again, it's time for some party favors, get them while they're hot!

Photo of the Year 2019-2020:

Party Favors 2020 - Volume 1 of 1 - in 4K!

This year was an improvement in quantity over last year, I had 47 to choose from as compared to 36 last year. Quality wise, last year was better for scenery, but subject matter could go either way. I only managed two pix from one out of state trip. My prediction regarding Colorado and Wyoming a year ago did pan out.

The 2020 "Photo of the Year" was an easy choice this year, it is the only one with good mountain scenery. Also, primarily a roster shooter, this is quite consistent with my usual style. I like that I was able to include the Palmer Lake sign in the photo, so it really needs no caption to identify it other than for date information.

I did not make it to Abo Canyon or Rusty Armadillo RV park this year, but good old Saginaw provided 24 of this years 36 photos. I was tempted to select BNSF SD75M #266 as photo of the year due to the good composition and subject matter, but Saginaw just is not Palmer Lake when it comes to scenery. That and the mismatched power as the third unit. I do like matched power sets.

In what may be a controversial decision, I have continued to get out and chase trains while under Tarrant County "stay at home" orders in March and now State of Texas "stay at home" orders in April. These orders do explicitly allow "essential outdoor activities" that include walking, as well as transportation to and from such essential activities. Walking a sensible distance from railroad tracks with a camera is still walking. Note I am featuring 6 pix from March and 2 pix from April while under these orders. There are a few others also getting out to Saginaw, and we mind our social distancing manners.
